| The Crispy Cream
Treble Booster is a guitar effects pedal that can be used to overdrive
a tube guitar amplifier (such as a Vox AC30, Marshall Plexi, or
tweed Fender Bassman) to produce a very musical type of distortion.
The creation of these guitar pedals was inspired by the fabulous guitar sounds of Brian May of the group Queen, as well as Eric Clapton's guitar tone on the "Beano" album (when he was with John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers). Treble boosters were utilized by May and Clapton (as well as guitarists Tony Iomi, Rory Gallagher, Ritchie Blackmore, David Gilmour) to push their tube amplifiers into crispy, creamy distortion. The guitar tones on the earlier recordings by those guitarists are something special that just can't be reproduced by modern guitar multieffects units. The Crispy Cream Treble Booster standard model (CCTB) is based on the circuits of the famous Dallas Rangemaster and the Vox Treble Booster. The final design, though, is unique, and great effort was made to achieve the best possible tone while reducing the self-noise and interference that often plagued those earlier pedals. Each unit is assembled by hand, and only the highest quality components are utilized throughout. Every pedal is tested and played before shipping to ensure that each will give you the richest, most complex tone possible. The pedal now features a 2.1mm 9V adapter jack, an orange LED indicator light, and the Easy-Switch Tone Circuit. This allows you to change the bass response of the pedal by swapping one of the parts (a capacitor). You can change from treble boost to mid boost and even to a full-range boost. The Crispy Cream is more flexible than ever! But don't just take our word for it, listen to the soundfiles and discover for yourself what the fuss is all about.
